Founded in 2017 originally as the Cardiff International Academy of Conducting, CIAC provides opportunities for conductors around the world to participate in live and virtual masterclasses with internationally renowned conducting pedagogues (please see our faculty page).
We provide a variety of masterclasses to aid conductors development. Whether you are just starting your exploration of conducting, working as a music educator and need to enhance your skills right through to those who are already working with professional ensembles, we hope you will find a masterclass that can suit your needs. We strive to create a welcoming and supportive learning atmosphere where participants encourage one another.
Live courses take place throughout the UK and recent collaborations have featured the Ulster Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra and Ensemble Cambrica. Whether it be a single pianist or full symphony orchestra we always strive to find the best musicians who will provide a positive and supportive environment for our participants.
CIAC virtual courses established in 2020 help us to reach participants around the globe who might not be able to travel to the UK. We now have a large video library of virtual courses that can be requested. These courses feature in depth score discussion, interviews/Q+A's with guest artists and CIAC's unique 'conducting in silence' virtual podium sessions.
CIAC can also facilitate bespoke lessons with our faculty on a one to one basis. For more information please contact us.
