CIAC Virtual Course Programme Autumn 2023
Late Tchaikovsky Symphonies

Our next series of virtual courses led by CIAC Artistic Director, Jonathan Mann will now turn its focus to the final three symphonies composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

During each virtual course participants will spend time discussing the score in detail, listening critically from the conductor’s perspective to a selection of recordings and working through the medium of conducting in silence which has proven to be an extremely useful and effective method of working.

Participants who sign up for all three courses are invited to two special bonus sessions on November 18th, 2023 with special guest lecturers (names to be announced) from the classical music business.

The autumn programme will culminate with an option to take part in a live workshop day for any participants who are interested and able to travel.  This will take place in London with professional pianist on December 9th.

Testimonials from previous CIAC Virtual Courses:

“This course was immensely valuable and helpful. Jonathan Mann knew exactly how to help me improve, and it was a pleasure to learn in such a supportive environment. The silent conducting was particularly useful.”

“Imagine a seminar where intellectual imagination, collaboration, and curiosity, are allowed to run rampant within a musical setting. That is what CIAC represents for me: a space, online and in-person, that envision conducting as a purely musical pursuit or vocation, untethered to the strings of expectations. Jonathan Mann has created a flexible schedule that maximises learning and experience within an orchestral setting. Most importantly, CIAC is not formulaic to chase a brand of conducting. Instead, Mann has curated a learning experience tailored to each participant.”
