CIAC CONDUCTING ACADEMY PRESENTS:
SECOND LONDON RESIDENCY
DIRECTED BY COLIN METTERS
13/14 + 16/17/18 FEBRUARY, 2023
The CIAC Conducting Academy has always valued its collaboration with Colin Metters, recognised internationally as one of today's outstanding conducting teachers and mentors. We are very excited to welcome Colin back for our 7th collaboration, focusing on music by Schumann and Tchaikovsky. Through Colin's unique and very personal style of teaching this promises to be an outstanding week of learning and revelation – so we encourage you to apply early!
Colin Metters: “I'm very pleased to invite you to join me for an exciting new conducting masterclass under the auspices of the CIAC Conducting Academy, offering an intensive period of study on two of the great works of the classical repertoire. We shall explore in depth the magic and mystery of Schumann's 3rd and greatest Symphony, plus the exhilaration of conducting Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the outstanding and inspirational Magdalena Filipczak.
I highly recommend this masterclass to all aspiring conductors, of any age, as participants or auditors, and I say to those of you who are “CIAC Alumni”, and to those who will be signing up for the first time - this is an opportunity not to be missed - you will not be disappointed.”
All in all - an opportunity not to be missed! Apply now.......
"Colin Metters' pedagogy interconnects intellectual rigour with emotional honesty. With an unflinching eye, Metters guides, interrogates assumptions, demands musical integrity and challenges the student to turn up the volume on their own imagination".
Carolyn : previous CIAC Masterclass participant.
CIAC Artistic Director Jonathan Mann: ”Colin Metters is one of the most highly respected conducting pedagogues in the world so we are privileged that he continues to work closely with the CIAC Conducting Academy. Every aspect of this masterclass has been carefully planned in partnership with Colin so that participants have the time to delve deep into all aspects of the conductor’s craft.”
